Apostle Shaun D. Vance is a native of Washington, DC. where he received his education through the DC Public School System. He graduated from Eastern High School in 1986. After completing high school, Apostle Vance enlisted in the US Army and served his country for eight years. While he had multiple careers in the military serving as chef, military police officer and drill sergeant, the highlight during his distinguished time of service was in Operation Desert Storm.
After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army, Apostle Shaun Vance furthered his education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management and a Master’s Degree in Administration & Supervision. With these degrees, Apostle Shaun Vance became an educator in the Prince George’s County Public School System, from which he retired in 2008. He decided to advance his knowledge to lead the kingdom of God further by obtaining a PhD in Divinity with a concentration in Theological Studies as well as a Doctor of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Leadership.
Apostle Shaun Vance gave his life to Christ in 1982 and was baptized by the late Dr. Moses L. Jackson of Beulah Baptist Church. As a 4th generation pastor, God had already destined Apostle for the work of the ministry. He was licensed to preach in 1997 by the First Rock Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Richard C. Corbin. In 1999, Apostle Vance was ordained by Christian Unity Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Kerry Thomas. After serving Christian Unity as an associate pastor, he became the assistant pastor of Community Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Dr. Carl E. Keels, pastor.
During this time, Apostle Vance was a sought-after teacher and preacher throughout the Metropolitan area. He was often called by the D.C. Baptist & Vicinity Association to be a keynote speaker during conferences. While Apostle Vance was serving as an assistant pastor, God was showing him what the next level of ministry would look like.
In 2001, Apostle Vance was given clear vision by the Holy Spirit to plant Upon This Rock Christian Fellowship, which is now known as The Rock Church. So, with this guidance from the Holy Spirit, on November 7, 2001, the ministry was birthed. Apostle Vance is submitted to his pastor, Apos- tle Michael A. Freeman of Spirit of Faith Christian Center, where in 2005 he was ordained under the SOFCC ministry as a spiritual son.
During Apostle Vance’s ministry journey, he has continued to keep his ear to the breastplate of the Holy Spirit to hear clearly for his next set of instructions. One set of instructions lead Apostle Vance to start Kingdom Bridge Builders (KBB) Worldwide Fellowship for all Churches, where he is the Presiding Prelate & General Overseer. Apostle Vance has a God-given assignment to plant ministries in different parts of the world. He’s currently preparing to plant ministries in Hope Mills & Salisbury NC. Apostle Shaun Vance also has the vision to plant ministries overseas in Antigua, and Guyana, South America.
Apostle Shaun Vance has been married to the love of his life, Dr. LaDonna Vance for 27 years. They have been with one another for 30 years. To- gether, they pastor The Rock Church. Their motto is, “It’s us against the world”. They have 3 amazing children, 2 sons and 1 princess
